Questions & answers
How do I know if my pool is leaking or just evaporating?
Do a bucket test. Set a bucket of pool water on the step, mark both levels, and compare after 24 hours. If the pool drops more than the bucket, especially half an inch or more, it's a leak.
My water utility sent an underground leak or high-usage notice. What now?
Turn off the pool's autofill and do a bucket test, then call us. Buried pool plumbing is a common cause, and we can pinpoint the line and the spot before any digging.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on the pool, spa, water features and equipment. Text photos of the entire pool and equipment pad and we'll send a quote.
What do I get at the end?
A written report with photos, each leak location marked, and clear repair recommendations, ready for your pool builder, insurer or agent.
Do you do pre-purchase pool inspections?
Yes. A specialist swims the pool and photographs cracks, missing tile, drain covers, fittings and equipment, then delivers a full condition report.
What areas do you serve?
Austin and the Hill Country through the I-35 corridor to San Antonio: Tarrytown, Westlake, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Boerne, Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, The Dominion and surrounding areas.
Who performs the work?
Independent, licensed and insured leak detection specialists. Austin Pool Leak is a marketing and referral service; the specialist quotes and performs the work directly.
